Take the opportunity to find out more about the positive impact of Fair Trade at Divine’s Fairtrade Farmers’ Tour, 2011
Between the 28th February and 13th March 2011, Fairtrade Fortnight and Divine Chocolate will be touring the UK to promote awareness of fair trade. The annual event gives you the opportunity to hear firsthand about cocoa farmers’ lives and the impact that fair trade has on them.
This year’s tour has a special focus on women to celebrate the International Women’s Day’s centenary. Two of the women from the Ghanaian cocoa co-operative, Kuapa Kokoo, Harriet Boatemaa and Fatima Ali, will be leading the tour and will be explaining just why the roles played by women are so crucial for the cocoa growing process.
The tour will take in Liverpool, Warrington, Bradford, London, Oxford and Cardiff and Harriet and Fatima will be meeting with businesses, shoppers, schools and political representatives to spread the word about the positive impact that Fairtrade has on the cocoa farming community in Ghana.
