Housing for Women: International Women’s Day benefit concert by London Oriana Choir

Posted on: 3 March 2011

Church of St Andrew, Holborn, EC4A 3AB 7.30 pm – 8th March 2011

On International Women’s Day, 8 March, the London Oriana Choir, is doing an exciting concert of music by women composers including a great variety of styles, some contemporary, some ancient and some in between. The daughter of one composer, Elizabeth Lutyens, is one of our long standing tenants.

Most excitingly the retiring collection is going to be for Housing for Women, for our trafficked women project. So if you can’t come to the concert, you can always donate the price of a ticket instead. Our website will lead you to VirginMoneyGiving or you can give a cheque to Housing for Women.

Housing for Women’s Re-Place Project for young trafficked women provides second stage, independent, temporary homes and support for women awaiting the outcome of their asylum claims. They have nothing, not even a passport, so the project pays for housing, living and support costs. One 18 year old couldn’t even smile at us when she first arrived and is now friendly and outgoing, ready to face her future.
