As the cuts hit, it’s Women who are bearing the load. The Tory-led government spending cuts will hit women the most, especially in the North East and Cumbria, where more women will lose their jobs, women will suffer more from a reduction in services, welfare benefits and tax changes, child poverty will increase.

On International Women’s Day the Northern TUC Women’s Committee are meeting to outline the devastating impact of slashing public spending and to develop the campaign against these cuts.

Travel The hotel is located across the road from Central train station in Newcastle.

Directions to the Thistle Hotel, Newcastle by Road
From the A1, follow signs to the city centre via the Gateshead Bypass and over the Redheugh Bridge. Turn right at the second set of traffic lights, forward at the next set and take the next right just past the Cathedral down Bewick Street (this is for buses and access only). The hotel is on the left. Limited Car Parking is available on site for an additional charge.

Directions to the Thistle Hotel, Newcastle by Rail
The hotel is directly opposite Newcastle Central Station with mainline links to London King’s Cross and Scotland.

Directions to the Thistle Hotel, Newcastle by Air
From Newcastle Airport, you can either take a taxi to the hotel or alternatively, take the underground Metro to Newcastle Central Station located opposite the hotel.
