In honour of 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day

Celebrating Women is a ceremony organised by Oxfam to mark the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day. In honour of this day we will be celebrating the achievements of inspiring women from across the Midlands as well as from the poorest countries in the world.

Many women, whether from a rich or poor country, will face challenges throughout their lives. On the 4th March 2010 we will be celebrating the women who have overcome those challenges to achieve great things, for themselves and their communities.

Celebrating Women is a photography exhibition, buffet and an opportunity to hear some of the most inspiring achievements from women in the Midlands and around the world. We hope to invite 100 of the most inspiring women from across the Midlands who have been nominated by the public.

Nominate now

We invite you to nominate someone from the Midlands who has inspired, amazed or motivated you. All nominations must be submitted by the 10th February 2011. Once in, we will choose 100 of the most inspiring women who will be invited to attend Celebrating Women at the Novotel hotel.

This ceremony is a celebration as well as a reminder of all the challenges facing women today and the work that is needed to be done to ensure women around the world reach their potential in the face of those challenges.

To make your nomination simply email the name, story and photo of someone who has inspired you to
